Lava Bold N2 Pro 4G launched in India for ₹7,999 featuring 50MP camera and 120Hz display

The Lava Bold N2 Pro 4G comes in Eclipse Grey and Aurora Gold, priced at ₹7,999 in India.

Lava has officially launched the Bold N2 Pro 4G in India at an aggressively competitive price of ₹7,999, and it has immediately caught the attention of budget smartphone buyers across the country. The phone is available exclusively through Flipkart in two colour options — Eclipse Grey and Aurora Gold — and comes with a single 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. What makes this launch particularly interesting is that Lava has managed to pack features that are typically seen in phones costing ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 more, including a 50MP AI triple rear camera and a 6.67-inch HD+ 120Hz display.

The device also features a large 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and is powered by the Unisoc T7250 processor. It runs on the latest Android 15 out of the box, which is a significant advantage in this segment where many competitors still ship with older Android versions. Lava has also emphasised a clean software experience with no bloatware and no popup advertisements, setting it apart from most budget phones. For first-time smartphone buyers, students, or anyone looking for a reliable secondary device, the Bold N2 Pro offers a compelling package that addresses common issues like slow software, cluttered interfaces, and poor cameras.

The 50MP AI triple rear camera and 120Hz display make the Lava Bold N2 Pro stand out in the under-₹8,000 segment.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the Lava Bold N2 Pro is its claim of offering up to 8GB RAM, but it is important to understand the reality behind this marketing phrase before forming expectations. The phone actually comes with 4GB of physical RAM built into the hardware, and the remaining up to 4GB is virtual RAM that the system borrows from the 128GB internal storage when needed. While virtual RAM does help in keeping more apps open in the background and reduces the frequency of app reloads during light multitasking — such as switching between WhatsApp, YouTube, and a web browser — it is inherently slower than physical RAM because storage memory is not as fast as dedicated RAM chips.

This means that the Bold N2 Pro will handle everyday tasks smoothly, but it will not match the performance of a phone that has 8GB of actual physical RAM, especially when you push it with heavier workloads like editing photos, running multiple heavy apps simultaneously, or playing graphics-intensive games. On the display front, however, Lava has delivered something genuinely impressive for the price. The 6.67-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling through social media feeds, swiping through menus, and general navigation feel noticeably smoother compared to standard 60Hz screens. The only compromise is the HD+ (720p) resolution, which means text and images are not as sharp as Full HD+. The inclusion of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock adds convenience for quickly accessing the phone.

The camera department is where Lava has put serious effort to make the Bold N2 Pro feel like a complete smartphone rather than just a basic calling device. The 50MP AI triple rear camera system uses a high-resolution primary sensor that captures detailed shots in good lighting conditions — whether you are photographing landscapes, food, documents, or portraits. The AI processing automatically enhances colours, adjusts brightness, and applies scene recognition so that photos look vibrant and shareable without requiring any manual adjustments. The additional lenses in the triple setup cover wide-angle shots, letting you fit more people or scenery into a single frame, which is particularly useful for group photos and architectural shots. On the front, the 8MP selfie camera delivers clear results for video calls and takes decent selfies with natural skin tones.

Moving to battery life, the 5000mAh cell is capable of providing a full day of usage on a single charge for an average user. Even with the 120Hz display, the battery holds up well due to efficient hardware. When you need to recharge, the 18W fast charging via USB Type-C ensures quicker top-ups. The phone also carries an IP54 rating, offering protection against dust and light water splashes, making it reliable for everyday use, especially for users with active lifestyles.

The 5000mAh battery, USB Type-C 18W charging, and clean Android 15 software make the Lava Bold N2 Pro a practical daily driver.

Despite all the positives, there are a few honest limitations that potential buyers should consider before making a purchase decision. The most significant one is the lack of 5G connectivity, as the Bold N2 Pro is strictly a 4G device — if you live in a metro city where 5G networks are widely available, you will not be able to take advantage of those speeds. The Unisoc T7250 processor, while adequate for everyday tasks, is not as powerful as Snapdragon or MediaTek chips found in slightly more expensive phones, so heavy games like Genshin Impact or COD Mobile at high settings may struggle. The 18W charging speed, though acceptable, also falls behind competitors offering faster charging options.

The HD+ display resolution is another compromise, with slightly less sharp visuals compared to Full HD+ screens. That said, none of these drawbacks are deal-breakers considering the ₹7,999 price point, as every phone in this segment makes trade-offs. Lava has focused on delivering what matters most — a smooth 120Hz display, a clean ad-free Android 15 experience, a capable 50MP camera, a reliable 5000mAh battery, and 128GB storage. For students, senior citizens, or anyone needing a dependable budget or secondary phone, the Lava Bold N2 Pro 4G stands out as a smart and practical choice in the Indian market.
